Shipping

How are you shipping?

The buyer pays for a Depop label, so it nets to zero. Ship it yourself and a boosting fee also applies to the shipping you charge.

$

Shown when you pick the parcel size. Depop deducts it from your payout, so it isn’t your money, but the processing fee is charged on it.

Depop advertises zero selling fees, and in the US, UK and Australia that’s true: there is no commission on your price. But every sale still pays a payment processing fee, charged on shipping and tax as well as the item. A sale from a boosted listing adds 12% in the US and UK (8% in Australia), and buyers pay their own marketplace fee on top of your price. The calculator above applies each fee to exactly the amount Depop names, shows the arithmetic on every line, and separates what comes out of your payout from what your buyer pays.

Four of them catch sellers out:

  • “Zero selling fees” isn’t zero fees. Depop Payments takes 3.3% + $0.45 of every US sale, and the $0.45 is the same on a $10 item as on a $200 one.
  • Processing is charged on shipping and sales tax. Depop collects sales tax for the state, but still charges its 3.3% on it, along with the shipping the buyer pays.
  • The boosting fee is 12% now and counts views. It went up from 8% for new US listings on March 23, 2026. A buyer only has to see the boosted tile and buy within 28 days.
  • Shipping discounts come out of your payout. If you take $2, $3 or $4 off a Depop label (US sellers on iOS), or make it free, Depop still deducts the full label from your earnings.

What you keep at common prices

Each row assumes a US seller, a $6 Depop label paid by the buyer, no sales tax and no boost.

$100.00$3.953.95%$96.05
$200.00$7.253.62%$192.75

The fixed $0.45 hits cheap items hardest: a $10 item gives up 9.8% of its price, while a $200 item gives up 3.6%. Processing is charged on the $6 label as well, so even at $200 the fees come to more than 3.3% of your price.

How the fees add up on one order

A $40 item sent with a $6 Depop label to a buyer who pays 8% sales tax:

Worked example
  • Buyer pays in total$52.92
  • of which marketplace fee (maximum) (paid by the buyer)up to 5% × $40.00 + $1.00$3.00
  • of which sales tax on the marketplace fee (paid by the buyer)8% × $3.00$0.24
  • Sale amount$40.00
  • Selling fee0% (sellers based in the US)$0.00
  • Payment processing3.3% × $49.68 + $0.45−$2.09
  • Depop Shipping label$6.00 paid by the buyer, $6.00 deducted$0.00
  • You keep$37.91

Depop charges processing on $49.68: the item, the label and $3.68 of sales tax. That comes to $2.09, which is 12 cents more than it would be without the tax. The buyer’s $6 covers the label Depop deducts, so it nets to zero, and you keep $37.91. The buyer pays up to $52.92 in total, including a marketplace fee of up to $3.00 and 24 cents of sales tax on that fee. The marketplace fee and its tax go to Depop on top of your price; they don’t come out of your payout.

Boosted listings: 12% that counts views

Boosting is the one fee you choose, and it now costs more than processing. On a $30 item with a $6 Depop label, a boost adds $3.60, so you keep $24.76 instead of $28.36. Depop charges it when the buyer saw your listing in a “Boosted” tile and bought within 28 days. The buyer doesn’t need to click, and stopping the boost doesn’t cancel fees from views that already happened.

The fee covers the item price excluding tax, plus your shipping charge if you arrange your own. It’s never charged on a Depop label. Listings created before the rate rose (March 23, 2026 in the US, December 3, 2025 in the UK) may still show 8% on the receipt. Turn on the “before the 12% boost rate” option to check one of those.

Depop labels, discounts and your own shipping

With a Depop label (USPS, Evri or Australia Post) the buyer pays for postage. Depop deducts the same amount from your payout, so the label costs you nothing, though processing is charged on it. Shipping yourself means you keep the shipping charge and buy postage, but a boosting fee then applies to the shipping as well.

Discounts are where the label starts costing you. On a $30 item with a $6 label you keep $28.36. Take $2 off and you keep $26.43; $4 off leaves $24.49, and free shipping leaves $22.56. Bundles with free shipping work the same way: you pay for the whole label.

  • UK: 2.9% + £0.30 processing and a 12% boosting fee. The buyer’s marketplace fee includes VAT. With a Depop label, payment is sent two business days after delivery or ten after the sale, whichever comes first.
  • Australia: 2.6% + A$0.30 processing and an 8% boosting fee. The selling fee went on July 22, 2026, and buyers see your price with the marketplace fee already added: an A$40 item shows as up to A$43.00. New accounts have had to use Depop Shipping for new listings since October 6, 2026, and existing sellers must from October 26.
  • Everywhere else: 10% of the item price plus your shipping charge, collected through PayPal, sometimes up to 21 days after the sale. PayPal’s own fee comes on top; Depop doesn’t publish it, so enter your rate under “More options”.
  • US payouts reach your Depop Balance two business days after delivery or ten after the sale, and a withdrawal can take up to five days to reach your bank.

Ways to keep more of each sale

  • Use Depop labels when you boost. The boosting fee skips a Depop label but not shipping you charge yourself.
  • Price for the boost. If you boost your whole shop, list so a 12% sale still pays. Keeping $25 takes a $30.28 price when boosted, against $26.52 without.
  • Bundle small items. A bundle is one sale, so it pays the $0.45 once instead of once per item.
  • Build discounts into your plan. A free-shipping offer on a $6 label costs as much as a 20% price cut on a $30 item.
  • Check old listings’ receipts. If a boosted sale shows 8% instead of 12%, the listing predates the increase, and the calculator can match it.

Questions sellers ask

How much does Depop take from a sale in 2026?

In the US there is no selling fee, but Depop Payments charges 3.3% + $0.45 on the item price, shipping and sales tax. On a $30 item with a $6 Depop label the fees are $1.64 and you keep $28.36. If the sale came from a boosted listing, add 12% of the item price: $3.60 more, so you keep $24.76.

Does Depop still charge a 10% selling fee?

Not for sellers based in the US, UK or Australia. Depop dropped it for UK listings created from March 20, 2024, US listings created from July 15, 2024, and Australian AUD sales from July 22, 2026. Sellers elsewhere who sell in other currencies still pay 10% of the item price plus the shipping they charge: €3.50 on a €30 item with €5 shipping.

What is the Depop payment processing fee in the US, UK and Australia?

It is 3.3% + $0.45 in the US, 2.9% + £0.30 in the UK and 2.6% + A$0.30 in Australia, charged once per sale (a bundle counts as one). On a £25 item with a £3.50 label a UK seller pays £1.13. On an A$40 item with an A$10 label an Australian seller pays A$1.60.

Is the Depop processing fee charged on shipping and sales tax?

Yes. Depop charges it on the item price plus shipping and any tax, including US sales tax that goes straight to the state. A $40 item with a $6 label costs $1.97 in processing, or $2.09 if the buyer pays 8% sales tax.

What is the Depop marketplace fee, and who pays it?

The buyer pays it, on top of your price, so it never comes out of your payout. In the US, UK and Australia it is up to 5% of the item price plus up to $1, £1 or A$1, not charged on shipping or tax. On a $30 item that is at most $2.50; Depop shows the exact amount only at checkout, and US buyers also pay sales tax on it.

How much is the Depop boosting fee, 8% or 12%?

It’s 12% in the UK (new listings since December 3, 2025) and the US (new listings since March 23, 2026), and 8% in Australia and other countries. You pay it if the buyer saw your boosted listing and bought within 28 days. Seeing the tile counts, even without a click, and it still applies after you stop boosting.

Does Depop charge fees on shipping if I use my own shipping?

Processing is charged on shipping either way. The boosting fee (and the 10% selling fee outside the US, UK and Australia) is charged on shipping only when you arrange it yourself, never on a Depop label. On a boosted $60 sale with $8 shipping, the boosting fee is $8.16 with your own shipping and $7.20 with a Depop label.

Are Depop fees refunded if I refund the buyer?

Yes: when a sale is refunded, Depop reverses the selling fee, processing fee and boosting fee, and the buyer gets the marketplace fee back. With Depop Payments that happens automatically. Sellers paid through PayPal ask Depop’s support team to refund the selling fee.

Will Depop fees change now that eBay owns Depop?

eBay completed its purchase of Depop on July 30, 2026. Depop’s FAQ says there are “no planned changes to fees or payments at this time”. We re-check Depop’s fee pages every day and will update this calculator if that changes.

What should I list my item at on Depop to keep $25?

With a $6 Depop label paid by the buyer and no boost, list at $26.52: processing takes $1.52 and you keep $25.00. If the sale might come from a boosted listing, list at $30.28 to keep the same $25. The “What to charge” tab does this for any amount, market and shipping choice.
