Poshmark’s fee looks simple: 20% of the sale, or a flat $2.95 under $15. The catches are around it. The flat fee turns into 20% at exactly $15.00, so a slightly higher price can pay you less. Shipping discounts, heavier labels and, in Texas and Canada, tax on the fee come out of your earnings as separate lines. And a lot of pages online still quote the short-lived 2024 fees or the old $8.27 shipping. The calculator above uses the current Fee Policy, shows every deduction on its own line, and finds the lowest price that pays you what you want.

Four things catch sellers out:

  • The $15 cliff. $14.99 keeps $12.04, but $15.00 keeps only $12.00. Every price from $15.00 to $15.04 pays you less than $14.99.
  • Shipping discounts are yours to pay. The buyer normally pays the $6.49 label, but any discount you offer is deducted from your earnings. Every Offer to Likers must include one.
  • The 5 lb limit includes the box. Coats, boots and bundles go over it easily, and the upgrade comes out of your earnings.
  • Texas sellers pay tax on the fee. Since October 1, 2025, Texas sales tax applies to 80% of Poshmark’s fee.

Under $15 the flat $2.95 weighs heavily: it takes 59% of a $5 sale and 29.5% of a $10 one. From $15 up every sale gives Poshmark the same 20%, however high the price.

How the fees add up on one order

A $50 sale through an Offer to Likers, with free shipping as the required shipping discount:

Worked example
  • Buyer pays$50.00
  • Poshmark fee20% × $50.00−$10.00
  • Free shipping you offeredWhole $6.49 label−$6.49
  • You keep$33.51

Poshmark’s fee is 20% of the $50.00 sale price, so $10.00. The free shipping you offered covers the buyer’s whole $6.49 label, and that comes out of your earnings too, which is why you keep $33.51 rather than $40.00. The buyer pays $50.00 plus sales tax. The shipping discount doesn’t lower Poshmark’s fee, because the fee is charged on the sale price only.

The $15 cliff: price at $14.99 or $15.05

Because the fee jumps from a flat $2.95 to 20% at $15.00, the payout falls by 4 cents right at the threshold. To match what $14.99 pays you need $15.05, where 20% leaves you $12.04 again, and $15.06 is the first price that pays more. The calculator warns you when your price falls inside that gap, and the “What to charge” tab skips it: ask for $12.04 and it answers $14.99, not $15.05.

The same thing happens in Canada at CA$20: CA$19.99 keeps CA$15.53 for an Ontario seller, CA$20.00 keeps CA$15.48, and it takes CA$20.06 to get back to CA$15.53.

Heavy packages and other shipping charges

The $6.49 label covers 5 lb including the box, padding and tape. Above that you buy an upgraded label: $5.00 for 5.01–10 lb and $10.00 for 10.01–15 lb, taken from your earnings. A 7 lb bundle selling for $40 keeps $27.00 instead of $32.00. Labels top out at 15 lb; heavier bundles need a second box and an additional label, which Poshmark charges for separately.

Through October 25, 2026, Poshmark covers the upgrade when a package over 5 lb ships on the standard label. From October 26 it deducts the upgrade from your earnings instead. A package of 15.01–25 lb on a single label costs $15.00, and over 25 lb the full USPS postage. Set the weight under “More options” to include it.

Two USPS charges are also passed on to sellers. Shipping in Priority Mail packaging costs $5, deducted from your balance, because orders now go by Ground Advantage. And since October 19, 2026 a package USPS flags for hazmat non-compliance costs you the full $50. The most common cause is a reused box that still carries old hazmat markings, such as the small “Limited Quantity” diamond.

Selling on Poshmark Canada

Poshmark Canada (poshmark.ca) has its own numbers: a flat CA$3.95 under CA$20 and 20% from CA$20 up, plus GST/HST on Poshmark’s fee at your province’s rate. Here is a $30 sale in the US next to a CA$30 sale in Canada by an Ontario seller:

MarketSaleFeesYou keep
🇺🇸 United States$30.00$6.00 20.0%$24.00
🇨🇦 CanadaCA$30.00CA$6.78 22.6%CA$23.22

The tax on the fee is what makes Canada cost more: 5% GST in Alberta, B.C., Manitoba, Quebec, Saskatchewan and the territories, 13% HST in Ontario, 14% in Nova Scotia and 15% in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island. A B.C. seller selling to a B.C. buyer also pays 7% PST on the fee. Buyers pay CA$12.49 for Canada Post Home Delivery, or CA$6.99 for Purolator Pick Up if you turn it on, plus tax. The standard label covers 2.5 kg; up to 5 kg costs CA$1 per extra half-kilo plus GST/HST.

Ways to keep more of each sale

  • Avoid $15.00 to $15.04, and the first few cents from CA$20.00 in Canada. Round down to $14.99 (CA$19.99), or go up to $15.05 (CA$20.06 for an Ontario seller).
  • Weigh the packed box before you ship. Upgrade the label when it’s over 5 lb, and split bundles over 15 lb rather than paying the single-label charge.
  • Build shipping discounts into your offer. If an Offer to Likers will include free shipping, set the offer price knowing $6.49 comes off your earnings.
  • Use your own or Ground Advantage packaging, never Priority Mail boxes, and cover old hazmat markings on reused boxes.
  • Cash out by direct deposit, which is free, or batch your transfers so the $0.35 or $2 fee is paid once for several sales.

Questions sellers ask

How much does Poshmark take from a sale in 2026?

In the US Poshmark keeps 20% of the sale price on sales of $15 or more, and a flat $2.95 on sales under $15. Listing is free and there is no separate payment processing fee. On a $30 sale you keep $24.00; on a $10 sale you keep $7.05.

Is the Poshmark fee $2.95 or 20% for a $15 item?

A sale of exactly $15.00 pays 20%, which is $3.00, so you keep $12.00. That is less than the $12.04 you keep at $14.99, and every price from $15.00 to $15.04 keeps less than $14.99. Price at $14.99, or at $15.05 or more.

Does Poshmark charge fees on shipping or sales tax?

No. The fee is charged on the final sale price only: your listing price, the offer you accepted, or the bundle total after the bundle discount. The buyer pays the $6.49 shipping and any sales tax on top, and neither is part of the 20%.

Who pays shipping on Poshmark, and how much is it now?

The buyer pays a flat $6.49 per order, shipped by USPS Ground Advantage. It dropped from $8.27 on September 12, 2025. One label covers up to 5 lb including the box, and a bundle pays shipping once. You only pay toward shipping if you offer a shipping discount or the package is over 5 lb.

How much does it cost to upgrade a Poshmark label over 5 lb?

$5.00 for 5.01–10 lb and $10.00 for 10.01–15 lb, deducted from your earnings. From October 26, 2026 Poshmark deducts the upgrade even if you ship without upgrading, and a package of 15.01–25 lb on a single label costs $15.00. Heavier bundles should be split into boxes with an additional label each.

If I offer discounted shipping on Poshmark, who pays the difference?

You do. Listing shipping discounts, and the shipping discount every Offer to Likers must include, are deducted from your earnings. Free shipping on a US order costs you the whole $6.49, so a $50 sale keeps $33.51 instead of $40.00. The discount does not lower Poshmark’s 20%.

Does Poshmark still charge a buyer protection fee?

No. On October 3, 2024 Poshmark added a Buyer Protection Fee and changed the seller fee to $1–$3 plus 5.99% of the order total, then reverted both on October 24, 2024. The current Fee Policy, in force since November 25, 2024, has only the $2.95 / 20% seller fee.

What are Poshmark’s fees in Canada?

Sales under CA$20 pay a flat CA$3.95 and sales of CA$20 or more pay 20%. Poshmark then adds GST/HST on its fee at your province’s rate and takes it from your earnings. A CA$30 sale by an Ontario seller pays CA$6.00 plus CA$0.78 HST, so you keep CA$23.22.

What is the Texas Seller Fee Tax on Poshmark?

Since October 1, 2025, sellers with a Texas return address pay Texas sales tax on 80% of Poshmark’s fee. At 8.25% (6.25% state plus 2% local), a $100 sale pays a $20.00 fee and $1.32 tax, so you keep $78.68. It is deducted at the time of sale and shown as its own column in My Sales Report.

How much does it cost to cash out on Poshmark?

In the US, direct deposit and checks are free, PayPal and Venmo cost $0.35 per transfer, and Instant Transfer costs $2. In Canada, direct deposit is free, PayPal costs CA$0.50 and Visa Instant Transfer CA$2.00. The fee is per transfer, so cashing out several sales at once pays it once.
