Shipping

Where is the buyer?

Processing is 3.49% on US domestic payments and 4.99% on international ones; Grailed Labels only ship to US buyers.

How are you shipping?

The buyer pays the Grailed Label, and it isn’t part of the commission. Your own label (20 lb+ parcels) adds the shipping you charge to the sale price.

$

Set at the sale from carrier rates. The buyer pays it, or it comes out of your payout if you offer free shipping.

Does this match your statement?

Grailed charges two fees on every sale, and they use different bases. The commission is 6% or 9% depending on whether the “sale price” is under $120, and the sale price includes shipping only when you don’t use a Grailed Label. Payment processing is charged on everything the buyer pays, including the label and sales tax. That turns $120 into a cliff: one cent over it can cost you more than $3. The calculator above applies each fee to exactly the base Grailed names, in US dollars, the only currency Grailed uses.

Four things catch sellers out:

  • The 9% applies to the whole price. Cross $120 and the rate on every dollar jumps from 6% to 9%, so a $120.00 sale keeps less than a $119.99 one.
  • Processing is a separate fee. Grailed’s fee page lists the commission and notes that processing comes on top. On a $100 item with a $10 label it adds $4.33 to the $6.00 commission.
  • Processing is charged on money you never get. The buyer’s label and sales tax are part of its base, even though Grailed passes them on to the carrier and the state.
  • Your own label puts shipping into the commission. If you ship on your own label, the shipping you charge is part of the sale price and can push it over $120.

What you keep at common prices

Each row assumes a US seller, a US buyer, a $10 Grailed Label paid by the buyer, Stripe connected and no sales tax.

The fee rate falls from 14.8% at $25, where the $1.99 minimum and the $0.49 fixed fee weigh most, to 10.2% just under $120, then jumps to 13.2% at $120 and eases to 12.7% at $500.

How the fees add up on one order

A $100 item with a $10 Grailed Label, sold to a buyer who pays 8% sales tax:

Worked example
  • Buyer pays$118.80
  • Seller commission (6%)6% × $100.00−$6.00
  • Payment processing3.49% × $118.80 + $0.49−$4.64
  • Grailed Label$10.00 paid by the buyer$0.00
  • You keep$89.36

The buyer pays $118.80: $100 for the item, $10 for the label and $8.80 in tax. The commission is 6% of the item price only, because a Grailed Label isn’t part of the sale price, so it is $6.00. Processing is 3.49% of the full $118.80 plus $0.49, or $4.64; without the tax it would be $4.33. You keep $89.36. The label and the tax pass through Grailed and never reach you, but they still raise the processing fee.

The $120 line: when a lower price pays more

Grailed picks the rate from the sale price, then applies it to all of it. With a $10 label, here is what you keep around the line:

  • $119.00 leaves you $106.87.
  • $119.99 leaves you $107.76.
  • $120.00 leaves you $104.17.
  • $124.11 leaves you $107.77.

Every price from $120.00 to $124.10 leaves you the same or less than $119.99, and $124.11 is the first that pays more. The calculator points this out when your price lands in that gap, and “What to charge” skips over it when it looks for the lowest price that reaches your target.

Offers work the same way, because Grailed charges on the price the item sells for: an accepted offer that crosses $120 moves you to 9%. With your own label the line applies to the item plus the shipping you charge, so a $95 item with $25 shipping is already a $120 sale.

Grailed Labels, free shipping and your own label

US-to-US sales must use a Grailed Label. The buyer pays for it at checkout as a separate line, so it costs you nothing and stays out of the commission; processing is still charged on it.

If you offer free shipping, Grailed works out the label price at the time of sale and deducts it from your payout. A $100 item with a $10 label then leaves you $80.02 instead of $89.67. The label comes out of your pocket, though processing drops a little because the buyer pays less. Over $750, signature confirmation adds $4 to the shipping, which you also pay when you offer free shipping.

For a US seller, your own label is for parcels of 20 lb or more and for every sale to a buyer outside the US. The shipping you charge then joins the sale price: a $100 item with $20 shipping is a $120 sale at 9%, and leaves you $104.52 before you pay for postage.

Selling from outside the US

Grailed works in US dollars for everyone, and the commission is the same in every country. Here is an $80 item with $25 shipping on your own label, sold to a buyer outside the US with Stripe connected:

  • VAT or GST on the commission. Sellers in the UK, the EU, Australia, New Zealand and Norway pay it unless they’ve added a VAT/GST number to their Grailed account. Grailed shows it as a “Tax” line but doesn’t publish the rate, so we use the standard rate: 20% in the UK, 10% GST in Australia, and the rate you enter for EU countries (21% unless you change it).
  • Processing depends on Stripe. Connected sellers pay 3.49% + $0.49 on US domestic payments and 4.99% + $0.49 on international ones. Grailed doesn’t define which is which, so we apply 3.49% when the buyer pays from the US. Sellers who haven’t connected Stripe pay $0.99 instead of $0.49, and countries without Stripe pay 4.99% + $0.49 on every sale.
  • Canada. Sales to US buyers under $750 and 20 lb ship on a Grailed Label the buyer pays for. From $750 you buy your own label, and the shipping you charge counts toward the commission.
  • Currency. Every sale is in US dollars. If your payout account is in another currency, it is converted at the payment processor’s rate, which Grailed doesn’t publish.

Ways to keep more of each sale

  • Price just under $120, or at $124.11 or more with a $10 label. With your own label, keep the item plus shipping under $120.
  • Check offers against the line before you accept or counter one.
  • Connect Stripe. It cuts the fixed part of processing from $0.99 to $0.49, and international payments from 5.49% to 4.99%.
  • Add your VAT or GST number if you’re registered, so Grailed stops adding tax to its commission.
  • Let the buyer pay for the label. Free shipping moves the whole label onto you: on a $100 item with a $10 label it costs you $9.65.

To run the same sale through other resale apps, try the Depop fee calculator, the eBay fee calculator or the Poshmark fee calculator.

Questions sellers ask

How much does Grailed take when you sell something?

Two fees: a commission of 6% (at least $1.99) when the sale price is under $120, or 9% from $120, plus payment processing of 3.49% + $0.49 on everything a US buyer pays. A $100 item with a $10 Grailed Label costs $6.00 in commission and $4.33 in processing, so you keep $89.67. At $200 you pay $18.00 + $7.82 and keep $174.18.

Is the Grailed seller fee 9% or 6%?

Both. Since May 20, 2026, a sale price under $120 pays 6% with a $1.99 minimum, and a sale price of $120 or more pays 9% of the whole amount. Grailed’s help article for international sellers still says 9% across the board, but the current fee page and Grailed’s May 2026 Patch Notes set out the two tiers.

What is the minimum fee on Grailed?

The 6% commission has a $1.99 minimum. Below a sale price of $33.17, 6% comes to less than $1.99, so you pay $1.99: on a $25 item the commission is $1.99 instead of $1.50. With a $7 label and processing on top, a $25 sale costs $3.60 in fees and you keep $21.40.

Does Grailed charge fees on shipping?

It depends on the label. With a Grailed Label the buyer pays shipping separately and the commission is charged on the item price only. With your own label, the shipping you charge is added to the sale price, so it pays commission and counts toward the $120 line. The processing fee is charged on shipping either way.

What is Grailed’s payment processing fee?

With Stripe connected it is 3.49% + $0.49 on US domestic payments and 4.99% + $0.49 on international ones. Without Stripe it is 3.49% + $0.99 or 5.49% + $0.99, and sellers in countries without Stripe pay 4.99% + $0.49 on every sale. It is charged on the total the buyer pays, shipping and tax included, on top of the commission.

Do buyers pay fees on Grailed?

No. Grailed is free for buyers: they pay the item price, shipping (the Grailed Label price on US orders) and any sales tax or import VAT that Grailed collects. The commission and the processing fee both come out of the seller’s payout.

Why is my Grailed payout less than I expected?

Usually because processing is charged on more than your price. On a $100 item with a $10 label and 8% sales tax, the buyer pays $118.80 and processing is 3.49% of that plus $0.49, or $4.64, so you keep $89.36. Neither the tax nor the label reaches you, but both raise the fee.

Should I price at $119 instead of $120 on Grailed?

Usually, yes. With a $10 label, a $119.99 sale leaves you $107.76 and a $120.00 sale leaves $104.17, because the whole price moves from 6% to 9%. You need to charge $124.11 to keep more than at $119.99. The same happens when you accept an offer that crosses $120.

What are Grailed’s fees for sellers in the UK, Canada or Europe?

The commission tiers are the same everywhere and every sale is in US dollars. Sellers who ship on their own label add the shipping they charge to the sale price, and sellers in the UK, the EU, Norway, Australia and New Zealand without a VAT/GST number also pay VAT/GST on the commission. An $80 item with $25 shipping to a buyer outside the US leaves a UK seller $91.71 after 20% VAT on the commission.

Do I get Grailed fees back if I refund the buyer?

Yes, after a full refund Grailed returns its fees automatically. If the refund comes from a lost-package claim, the fees are not refunded.
