Most sellers think of StockX’s fee as the 9% Level 1 rate, but a standard sale pays three charges: a transaction fee set by your Seller Level, a 3% payment processing fee on top, and a flat shipping fee taken out of your payout for the label to StockX’s verification center. That is why a $200 pair pays out $171.00, not the $182.00 a 9% fee suggests. Below about $56, a minimum fee takes over as well. The calculator above applies each fee to the sale price the way StockX’s help center describes it and shows the arithmetic on every line.
Every StockX fee at a glance
These are the fees for a US seller on the Verified Marketplace, where new items are checked by StockX before they reach the buyer. Pick another country in the calculator to see its minimum fee and shipping fee.

Four things catch most sellers out:
- Processing comes on top of the level rate. Level 1 is 9% plus 3%, so 12% of the sale price before shipping, not 9%. Your buyer pays a separate processing fee of their own, which never touches your payout.
- The shipping fee comes out of your payout. It has been $5.00 per item in the US since March 1, 2026 (up from $4), and StockX adjusts it for heavier items and multi-item packs.
- Cheap items hit the minimum. StockX’s minimum seller fee is $5.00, so below $55.56 at Level 1 we charge a flat $5.00 instead of 9%. Add processing and shipping, and a $40 item keeps $28.80 ($30.00 if the minimum also covers processing, which StockX doesn’t specify).
- Levels reset every quarter. A level lasts for the quarter you reach it and the next one, so a quiet quarter pushes your rate back up after that.
What you keep at common prices
Each row assumes a US seller at Level 1 who ships the item after it sells, cashing out to StockX Balance.
| Sale price | Total fees | Fee rate | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|
| $40.00 | $11.20 | 28.0% | $28.80 |
| $60.00 | $12.20 | 20.3% | $47.80 |
| $100.00 | $17.00 | 17.0% | $83.00 |
| $150.00 | $23.00 | 15.3% | $127.00 |
| $200.00 | $29.00 | 14.5% | $171.00 |
| $300.00 | $41.00 | 13.7% | $259.00 |
| $500.00 | $65.00 | 13.0% | $435.00 |
| $1,000.00 | $125.00 | 12.5% | $875.00 |
The fixed $5.00 shipping fee and the $5.00 minimum make cheap items expensive to sell: a $40 item gives up 28.0% of its price while a $500 pair gives up 13.0%, and even at $1,000 the total stays above 12%.
How the fees add up on one order
A $200 pair at Level 1, shipped by you:
- Buyer pays$200.00
- Transaction fee (Level 1, 9%)9% × $200.00−$18.00
- Payment processing (3%)3% × $200.00−$6.00
- Shipping fee$5.00 per item−$5.00
- You keep$171.00
The 9% transaction fee is $18.00 and processing is $6.00, both charged on the $200 sale price only. StockX then deducts $5.00 for the prepaid label, leaving $171.00. The “Buyer pays” line is simply your sale price: StockX adds its own buyer processing fee, shipping and any tax on top for the buyer, and none of that passes through your payout. If you cash out to a debit card, another 2% ($3.42 here) comes off.
Seller Levels: what each one is worth
Every seller starts at Level 1. StockX moves you up as soon as you pass either the number of sales or the dollar amount for the next level within a calendar quarter (January to March, April to June, and so on), counting Verified, Listings and Live sales together:
- Level 2 (8.5%): 12 sales or US$1,500 in a quarter
- Level 3 (8%): 40 sales or US$5,000
- Level 4 (7.5%): 200 sales or US$25,000
- Level 5 (7%): 800 sales or US$100,000
Each half point is worth $1.00 on a $200 sale: Level 2 keeps $172.00, Level 3 $173.00, Level 4 $174.00 and Level 5 $175.00. Once you reach a level you keep it for the rest of that quarter and the whole of the next one. Missed shipments work the other way: StockX can raise your transaction fee, and Level 3 to 5 sellers who fail to ship 5% or more of a month’s orders pay a penalty for each one the following month.
Flex or ship it yourself?
Flex lets you send stock to StockX in advance; it is checked on arrival and ships straight to the buyer when it sells. On March 1, 2026 StockX raised Flex fees by 2 points at every level, so Flex now pays the same 9% to 7% as standard sales plus 3%, and removed the $5 Flex fulfillment fee and the 1% Quick Sale discount. StockX’s own example: a $100 Flex sale paid out $85 under the old fees and $88 under the new ones.
The real difference now is shipping. Flex sales pay no seller shipping fee, so a $200 pair at Level 1 keeps $176.00 through Flex against $171.00 shipped yourself. StockX’s help center lists storage as free for the first 30 days, then $1 a month up to day 90, $2 a month up to day 180 and $3 a month after that, billed on the 15th of each month. Fast movers clearly come out ahead; an item that sits for months gives the advantage back, and you also pay to send your stock in.
Selling outside the United States
The level rates and the 3% processing fee are the same everywhere. What changes is the minimum fee (£4.50 in Great Britain, €5.00 in the EU, C$7.00 in Canada) and the shipping fee, which StockX lists as an estimated base rate by country.

- Shipping: £4.00 in the UK and C$6.00 in Canada. In euro countries it ranges from €5 in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria to €7 in France and Italy, €8 in Spain, €10 in Portugal, €11 in Ireland, €15 in Finland and €17 in Greece.
- The minimum bites at different prices: at Level 1 it applies below £50.00 in the UK and below C$77.78 in Canada.
- VAT: if you are VAT-registered in the UK, StockX adds output VAT to your payout under self-billing and you pay it to HMRC. VAT-registered sellers shipping from the Netherlands get 21% added the same way.
Ways to keep more of each sale
- Reach the next level early in a quarter. The lower rate starts as soon as you qualify and lasts through the following quarter. Twelve sales or US$1,500 takes you from 9% to 8.5%.
- Use Flex for items that sell fast. No shipping fee, and storage is free for 30 days.
- Resell StockX purchases through No Fee Resale. Within 90 days of delivery, in the same condition with the StockX tag still on, there is no transaction, processing or shipping fee.
- Drop off in New York. At StockX’s drop-off on Lafayette Street the shipping fee is refunded once the item is scanned in.
- Cash out for free. Keep your StockX Balance or withdraw to PayPal or Venmo instead of a debit card.
- Ship on time. A missed shipment costs $15 and can raise your fee.
If you also sell on other marketplaces, compare the same sale with the GOAT fee calculator or the eBay fee calculator.
