Etsy Fee Calculator UK: Every Fee on a £25 Sale
With £5 postage the buyer pays £30. Etsy takes:
- Listing: 15p.
- Transaction: £1.63 on the item and 33p on postage.
- Processing: £1.40.
- Regulatory operating fee: 14p.
- VAT on all of the above: 73p.
That’s £4.38, and £25.62 reaches you: about 14.6% of the order.

The VAT line is the one most UK calculators miss. It adds a fifth on top of every Etsy fee, which is why a sale that looks like 11% in fees costs closer to 15%.

Pricing for UK fees
Low-priced items suffer most, because the 20p processing and 15p listing fees are fixed: a £10 item with £3 postage loses £2.14 (16.5%). If you sell many small items, raise the price slightly or offer bundles. Work out a fair price from your time and materials with the craft pricing calculator.
