How much TCGplayer takes

A Level 1–4 seller pays a 10.75% marketplace commission on the items (capped at $75 per product) and on shipping, plus a transaction fee of 2.5% of the order total + $0.30, where the order total includes items, shipping and sales tax (TCGplayer Fees). International orders pay 3.5% + $0.30.

We checked the engine against TCGplayer’s own worked example: a $65.31 card with $0.99 shipping and 7% tax costs $9.20 in fees, exactly as their help page shows (Fee Calculation Examples).

How Much Does TCGplayer Take on a $5, $20 or $100 Card?

  • $5 card + $1.49 shipping: $1.16 in fees, you keep $5.33 of $6.49 (18%).
  • $20 card + $1.49 shipping: $3.15, you keep $18.34 (15%).
  • $100 card, free shipping: $13.55, you keep $86.45 (13.6%).

The percentage falls as the price rises because the $0.30 is fixed.

TCGplayer Selling Fees on Cheap Cards: The 30¢ Problem

On bulk-price singles the fixed $0.30 dominates. A $0.50 card with $1.49 shipping pays $0.56 in fees, more than the card itself. Two fixes: set a minimum price for singles you list, and encourage buyers to add more cards to the same order, since the $0.30 is charged once per order, not per card.
